MOTOESTATE 1000 OPEN: THE TOP CLASS MORE AND MORE INTERNATIONAL
From 2023 the 1000 Open of the MotoEstate Trophies will be more international and will be called 1000 Sound of Thunder. It will bring together 2 and 4 cylinder bikes, with separate classifications and awards.
After the introduction of the Twins Cup, the category reserved for light twins that are conquering so much space in the motorcycle market, the longest-running championship in Italy also aligns its premier class with European trends. The first change will concern the change of name, which will become 1000 Sound of Thunder. The choice is dictated by the desire to be recognizable as a top-class even beyond national borders.
Another change will concern the vehicles that we will see at the start. As usual, the category will bring together the 3 and 4 cylinder maxi-motorcycles, to which will be added the twin cylinders which will enjoy a special dedicated classification. In the V2, handcrafted or factory-derived two-cylinder motorcycles with displacements from 1000 to 1400 cc will be able to race. In the V4, on the other hand, we will see production bikes at the start, with Super-Open regulations and engine capacities from 1000 to 1300 cc.
No changes are planned for the 1000 Stock which will keep the Dunlop mono-tyre. Participants will be able to choose between the Dunlop KR Slicks and the D213s.
The 600 Open will also follow in the footsteps of its older sister
The 600 Open will also follow in the footsteps of its older sisters and will take the name of 600 Sound of Thunder. No change, however, as regards the substance of the category, in which we will see the middle-class SuperSports and the Big SuperSports (from next year Next Gen SS) at the start.
The 600 Stock will keep the Dunlop mono-tyre, with the choice of tire at the rider’s discretion.
From next season, the queen classes will also host the winners of the 2022 Race Attack 600 and 1000, as indicated in the sporting regulations. The choice is dictated by the desire to keep the Race Attack an entry level and balanced category and to offer the participating pilots a training growth path.
